just a quick note to let you know that i'm fine.
i was on beach in goa at the time of the quake & tsunamis. it's on the west side of india so not much affected. we got some high high tides later that night. the beach just north of us had flooding, but no major damage.
the whole east side of india and even some far-south western parts got hit. really bad, the death toll is so high.
i met someone a few weeks ago from chennai (madras) but i think she was traveling a lot for work, so probably not home at the time. she likely knows folks affected though. and my friend zoey who i was with in goa had a friend who had gone to sri lanka to surf. she has not yet heard from him.
people i spoke to at work don't know anyone hurt by it. so that's good.
