The Ice Palace , one of two toilets at summer camp.

There are two different pole markers. One is the Ceremonial Pole. It’s the barber striped one surrounded by semi circle of flags from the 12 nations that signed the original Antarctic Treaty. The other is the Geographic South Pole marker, which gets re-set every year. We are on a giant ice sheet, which is drifting, so last year’s geo marker is no longer on the actual pole and a new one must be placed. That will happen on New Year’s Day.
